You won’t believe what I found on Yahoo News tonight. I had to take a moment and post it up.
Seems that there is a big market for gold plating your babies umbilical cord so that you can stamp your outgoing mail with it. (Yeah… that’ll teach them junk mail companies!)
“Doting South Korean parents can preserve their child’s umbilical cord in acrylic resin to make a personal seal or even have it gold plated.
Suppliers also offer services for parents to have traditional Korean calligraphy brushes made from their child’s hair.
South Korean law allows parents to keep the umbilical cord of their children, although sales to a third party would be illegal.”
Ahh… Too bad! And I was so looking forward to buying some kid’s bellybutton to wrap up and put under the tree this year. It would have been just the thing for that really hard-to-buy-for person on your list.
Guess I’ll just have to give then a cheese sandwich that looks like the Virgin Mary instead.
