Last year’s Portable Media Expo was a blast. Not only did I get to hold Podcasting for Dummies in my hand for the first time, I also got to meet a bunch of very nice people in the podosphere. Within hours of arriving, it was obvious that I would be going back.
This year, I’m actually presenting at the conference. I’ve pulled another podcasting pioneer, Steve Eley of Escape Pod, along with me. Together, we’ll be presenting Podcasting the Written Word on Friday afternoon, September 29th.
Please let me know if you are coming. Admission to the expo floor is free, but there is a fee to attend the sessions. When I’m not in my panel, I’ll likely be on the floor as that’s where all the cool podcasters hang out.
Conversations with the creators of the best in science fiction and fantasy. If you love SF literature, are an author or aspire to become one, you'll enjoy this podcast.
Middle-school teachers talking about ideas and challenges in real-world classroom environments. Discussions on education, ideas for both parents and teachers, interviews with top young adult literature authors.

Is there a possiblity that podiobooks will become like the old time radio shows with a full cast and sound effects? Would that be an improvement or not?
John
Podiobooks are what podiobooks are. Some of them are low-fi, some very produced and even a few with full casts are planned. That’s the beauty of this new medium– we get to make it up as we go along!
