LibraryThing is cool. Also, if you don't want to or can't do the internet thing in a bookshop, there is a PalmThing group on there, where you can expore your catalogue and carry it around on your Palm PDA, it has a great lookup database in it. Very useful.

I've just recently stumbled upon your great show, and I've been systematically listening to all of your shows back-to-back in reverse chronological order. I love the show, and I think that its quality has noticeably improved over time. It has definitely earned a spot on my bookmark toolbar.

Thanks!

That's the store. I think.
The front window in the first shot looks really close.

I know that the number of books is right. Row, upon rows, of tombs.

As always, enjoyed listening to the podcast. I've been listening consistently since June of last year. Always sounds like you guys are having a good time and I think the new focus on writing is a good move.

The reason I'm writing is because there was mention of a bookstore in Omaha (or Lincoln), Nebraska. From the comments made (Michael #1 I believe), it sounds like the bookstore referred to was The Antiquarium in downtown Omaha. I grew up in Omaha and spent many days of my life lurking in the shelves there. I've even made a short video about it, http://bigtimetelevision.blogspot.com/2006/01/antiquarium.html -- check it out and see if that's the place. I realize it might be hard to tell since I didn't include an exterior shot, but maybe the video'll stir some recognition.

Thanks for the good work and "smooth sounds of Dragon Page",
Ed

I have listened to The Secrets and I'm still going to be gobbling up the new Dragon Page C2C voraciously. Being a restarted writer and never formally trained or workshopped, I need as much professional info as I can get. I'm well and truly excited.

Correctamundo! I am not gone and will be making cameo appearances from time to time. In fact, I sent over an interview just after the new year which should be making it on soon. Got about four more interviews lined up, and have just knocked out a few books which are worthy of inclusion on the show.

So fear not, I'm not going anywhere...

Slammer, you don't have to worry on that front either. We aren't replacing book talk with writing talk, not in the least.

I think that getting an author's insights on the writing process involved in creating the novel that readers enjoyed can be informative and helpful to both readers and aspiring writers. Also talking to publishers about how they get a book out to the readers can be helpful to everyone involved as well.

The trick is that while readers don't have to write, writers definitely have to read. And both readers and writers are interested on what attracts a publisher to buy and produce a book, as well has what influences how the marketing is approached, because that affects what the readers do or do not get to see on the shelves.

So we're just adding to Cover to Cover, not taking anything away.

I don't know I really liked it when you talked about and interveiwed author's, this whole focus on writing can only interest people who have that itch. People like me who love SciFi but have no asparations for writing my find it a little weary. When you used to talk about books I found it much more interesting. I've actualy bought a few after listening before, not so much and I hope I don't have to go looking for another source.

I'm really psyched you all are liking the show. It's a blast to do, and I am honored to be part of it. I've always enjoyed guesting, and now I get to hang out each week, talking with friends and getting to pick author brains.

The Secrets will continue. I'm just finishing a novel and have gotten through dealing with some equipment failure, both of which have delayed the show. I should have new stuff up by the end of the month.

Jay I have to agree with you.
C2C was also my first podcast and I would burn them to CD so I could listen in my car on my way to work. It is great to have it back Mike and Mr Stackpole is a natural fit. I have been a listener to the Secrets podcasts only infrequently only because he posts an episode in frequently.... (Get on him Mike would you... I am using his 21 days to writing as instructional material for my pre-teen daughter) is this going to affect the Secrets podcast or will he just move it here? I ask because his time is very precious and I am wondering how he will fit in.

Cover 2 Cover was the first podcast I listened to, and it's long been a favorite of mine. I was pretty worried when you shortened the show (and then sort of disappeared for a while), but I'm excited about the new direction you're taking the show. Glad to hear it's going to be more regular again.

Michael A. Stackpole seems like a great addition.

Wow! Great show guys! Hope Evo pops in from time to time but having Michael Stackpole step in is great.

Really enjoyed the new version of the show and like the other Michael - a Bob Newhart moment here, this is my brother Darryl and my other brother Darryl ;) - mentioned am dismayed at the lack of posts. Guess the slight slowdown has diminished your visibility somewhat.

Big fan here! So buck up and continue to do great things!

BTW - any thoughts on maybe touching on other SF books, ie from the top 10 selling list perhaps, and not only from your 'Library'? I know you want to push new stuff and writers but some thoughts on more known and visible writers would be a great addition as well.

Something to consider.

Eagerly awaiting future installments!

Guess the slight slowdown has diminished your visibility somewhat.

Big fan here! So buck up and continue to do great things!

BTW – any thoughts on maybe touching on other SF books, ie from the top 10 selling list perhaps, and not only from your ‘Library’? I know you want to push new stuff and writers but some thoughts on more known and visible writers would be a great addition as well.

Something to consider.

Eagerly awaiting future installments!

I loved the show! The new line-up is great and personable. I've listened to the show occasionally for a while now. But you have a new subscriber! The current team of hosts makes the show very easy on the ears, and the addition of Stackpole lends even more credibilty. Keep up the great work!

I like the direction! I have listened to "the secrets" and really like it when mr. stackpole is telling stories rather than simply talking about the craft. I can't wait to hear more.

Cool show even though there wasn't an interview. Summer sandwiched between two slices of Michael. Really like the idea of adding bits about the craft of writing.
