I was on an emotional rollercoaster...

I didn't realize the book was out and picked it up unexpectedly.
I whipped through the book ignoring the world around me.
I finished the book and sat back with a sigh.
I thought about the year or so until the next one.
I thought about Jim's Sword and Sorcery series.

Sorry! just not into that kind of fantasy. As such it annoys me that Jim "wastes" his time on that drivel when he could be writing more Dresden Files. (Back! Back, you fantasy drones!! I'm trying to be funny here!)

This was an excellent addition to the series and it included some bits and pieces about magic, Harry's powers and some of his devices that when I first read of them had me going "Hey, if the ___ does that, then couldn't he just ___ with the ___ and then he'd have a ____?"

I can't wait till the next one.

(Yes, this is all very vague. I know. It was deliberate since I hate it when people spoil a new book for me.)

This is not in the book but I've always wondered, why doesn't Harry get a woodburning water heater? It's not like water heaters are advanced technology. It's a tank of water and a heat source. Sure, he'd have to do without the electronic thermostat and all but It can't be any more annoying than cooking on a wood stove.
