Cover to Cover #295A: Six Year Anniversary

Cover to Cover
Posted by Summer Brooks on Monday, 4 Feb 2008

Show Notes: Six Years!

Michael and Michael discuss covering books, and how author communications have changed over the years, even during the six years that Mike M has been doing Cover to Cover, and the changes he’s experienced during that time.

Interview: A blast from the past. An interview that Michael and Evo did with Robert Jordan in 2005, covering Knife of Dreams.

The Library: This time around: The Lost Fleet: Courageous by Jack Campbell; Tracing the Shadow by Sarah Ash; Marseguro by Edward Willett; Airs and Graces by Toby Bishop; Roman Dusk by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro; Mystery Date edited by Denise Little.

Don’t forget, you can also comment on books listed in The Library… look through the listings and feel free to post your thoughts and comments there.

Submitting Listener comments: If you have any suggestions or comments, please let us know! “Cover to Cover” has it’s own call-in line, 206-350-READ! That’s 206-350-7323, or just email Michael with a comment you’ve recorded yourself!

    Congratulations on the six years.

    I do have one little question, Both of the Mike’s mention Second Life in this episode. I’m wondering what exactly they were talking about and if there’s any way I can use some of my free SL time to help out in anyway.

  3. Mario Z says on :

    I think m. stackpole’s idea of story-serial might already be happening;
    in amazon, you can already purchase short-stories individually(i was amazed at least)…but the idea of serial-story sales almost seems like it needs a better presentation around the idea…a ‘e-pulp’ feel with surrounding media attached, like music and art also for sale in same place. My suggestion is that you make a deal with the author that regular stories(at 10-12k word counts) could be released every week…say monday night. Then new readers, could catch up and comment on attached forums quickly.

    Its about the packaging, in the new project.

    (ps. no worries, the next six years…Mike, you’ll be a uber-power producer…With summer being your iron-fisted right-hand woman in the pod-empire.)
