Sisters Serena and Meteora were once members of the high court of the Fairy Queen, until they played a prank that angered her Highness. Banished to the mortal realm of Earth and separated from each other, they must find a way to survive in a strange world in which they have no power.

A beautiful young woman who lives near Meteora comes home one night with a tattoo on the back of her neck — unaware that she has been marked with a magic symbol that will bring her trouble. A homeless boy Serena has taken under her wing has dreams of dark creatures and Serena realizes his blood has been tainted by some dark power.
