I gave NaNoWriMo a shot this year. While I was not a 'winner' I still made major headway (+25k words) on turning some of the ideas that had been bouncing around in my head into story that may someday actually be good enough to let others read
I found the month to be enjoyable from the standpoint of the camaraderie that exists between those who are participating or supporting the writers.
Before I hit a wall, with about a week and a half to go, I experienced many of the things you hear about from writers; the words just flowing, a bit of block, the story taking an unexpected turn...
I'm still working on the stories that developed during the month, and I plan on doing it again next year with a bit more preparation.
I think the experience was worth it!
