Understanding Comics by Scott McCloud changed the way I think about storytelling. Addressing story structure, character and the development of an artist, McCloud challenged the way I think about creating a story and how to approach the mediums I work within. His style is easy to follow, using words and pictures to convey complex ideas about art and narrative in a fashion that’s easy to understand. Understanding Comics is a book I’d recommend to anyone interested in art, the life of an artist, and telling stories.
