Cover to Cover #85: William C. Dietz / R. A. Salvatore

October 27, 2003 by Michael R. Mennenga

For More Than GloryInterview: William C. Dietz writes military sci-fi, and his latest book For More Than Glory continues to be in this vein. Think French foreign legion, complete with cyborgs, aliens and planetary confederations, and you’ll be in the mind set to read For More Than Glory. While it is a part of a series, Bill writes them in such a way to allow readers to jump in at any time. If your a fan of big space battles, politics and a variety of alien races, you’ll be a fan of Bill’s work.

The Lone Drow by R. A. SalvatoreInterview: R. A. Salvatore’s latest featuring everyone’s favorite dark elf, Drizzt, is The Lone Drow. Bob has big hopes for this book, and thinks it will be even bigger than The Thousand Orcs, which debuted at number 11 on the NY Times best-seller list. Bob also deals with the topic of “Tolkien clones” and how his books fit in this niche. He’s got some warnings about the direction modern fantasy is taking, so tune in to find out more.
