Cover to Cover #354A: Jim Butcher

March 30, 2009 by Summer Brooks 3 Comments

Discussion: To prologue or not to prologue? That is the question…

Turn CoatInterview: Mike and Mike chat with the inestimable Jim Butcher about his latest Dresden Files novel, Turn Coat. They talk about the search for storylines, the growth of characters, and the present and future potential for abuse of a character, and more.

Does writing a long series change the way a writer approaches the process of a new story, or of writing in general?

Discussion: The thought of bonus materials leads to asking what extras you think fans and readers would like to see included with a particular book or game. Cook books, annotated volumes, maps and more… what would you think you would or wouldn’t want to see?

Love all the great interviews lately.

Now see if you can get the author who has written two great books and who you never hear anything about.

Is it possible to get transcripts of the podcasts? For us hearing-impaired people?

This is my first time listening to your podcast. I will be listening again. I am a big fan of Jim Butcher and I really enjoyed his interview. For the record I read the books prior to the show and I liked the show too. I agree that Sci-Fi never gives new shows enough of a chance to catch on…. too bad the show was fun and had great potential.
