This week we talk with Sci-fi legend Ben Bova about his books Powersat and Mercury. A great conversation with a man that has been writing great sci-fi for a long time.
We then talk with Mark Jeffery about his book The Pocket and the Pendant. Mark has been turning his work into a A whole show dedicated to the upcoming Star Wars Episode III – Revenge of the Sith. It is a fun time, and fan or not, you will not want to miss this one. Interviews with Kage Baker (The Life of the World to Come) and later, Wil Radcliffe (Noggle Stones) Interviews with Jacqueline Carey (Banewreaker), and later K. Allen Cross (Flight of the Hellcat) Interviews with Michael A. Stackpole (A Secret Atlas), and Dennis L. McKiernan (Once Upon A Summer Day) Also Scott Sigler tells us about his podcast novel that we are digging called EarthCore The Last Universe by William Sleator. Wolf Brother by Michelle Paver. The Scrolls of the Ancients by Robert Newcomb Interview Interviews with Lucius Shepard (Weapons of Mass Seduction) and Richard K Morgan (Market Forces) We talk with R. Scott Bakker about his “Prince of Nothing” series, and the first two books, The Darkness That Comes Before and The Warrior-Prophet. Interviews with Ellen Datlow (Faery Reel) and Craig Spector (Underground) Interview: Minister Faust has written the definitive novel for all fan boys, The Coyote Kings of the Space-Age Bachelor Pad. Poor SF/F geeks battle rich used-to-be SF/F geeks, with some SF-ish drug dealers and some sort of Ethiopian demi-god thrown in to boot. Minister describes the book as “The Catcher in the Rye meets Repo Man, or Harry Potter on Heroin”. Yeah, that pretty much sums it up. Araña: Heart of the Spider from Marvel is Fiona Avery’s latest book. As in “comic” book, or graphic novel. It’s a Latina superheroine story which has garnered some serious critical acclaim. Fiona approaches stories from her anthropological background, giving additional depth and perspective you may not see in other works.
